I love the multiple meanings behind the line, "I've had some tricks up my sleeve, takes one to know one". She's referring to the idea that they both are cowboys, bandits, con artists, hustlers, they are both tricksters, so many ways of describing who and what the two people in the story are, and all of it is summed up with that one line.

What this song represents to me is these two lonely souls who happen to be bandits or con artists or cowboys have found a match with each other. And somewhere along the way, you’ll find someone whose character, dreams, aspirations coincide with yours. Opposites do attract but sameness and familiarity sometimes could go a long way.
